In San Diego of 2016, Conan O'Brien Productions partnered with Hypercube, 30 Ninjas, and Aura Digital to make the world's first 360 video live stream.
I was called to work as Assistant Camera Operator, Assistant Engineer, and DIT during production, and that's just a few of the hats I ended up wearing there. Then, after the live show, I edited pieces (on site) to distribute the captured content on Conan's social media channels.
This was the first live stream of 360 video content and the technical hurtles we dealt with moment to moment were many — a welcome challenge. It was a huge success, landing the crew successive jobs with Conan's production company in 2017 and 2018. I think we all deserve a light pat on the back for this one.
